Proffie Core

Truly awesome. The learning curve is steep but I have now set up the multi/phase/shifting light saber I wasn't even sure was possible. Utterly worth it!

Ordered the proffie core as part of the 'Build A Saber' option on the ES Sabers website. I knew I wanted a Proffie core for the ultimate customisation options and could see from the pics that ES Sabers used genuine Proffie boards and not cheap knock offs.

When the saber arrived first thing I did was unscrew the handle to take a look at the core and was extremely happy.

The core is solidly built and encased in a strong plastic cylinder. Unlike a lot of these cores you see this one does not have the battery wires overly exposed so this in itself helps to reduce the chance of breakages and extend the life of the core.

The battery in the core is decent quality and can be recharged without removing it from the saber via the port near the main button (I chose the USB-C option)

The Proffie board is a genuine board not some cheap copy and the one I got was the white coloured board though I know they come in multiple colours and is protected by a plastic tab on the outer casing. Both the Micro SD card and Micro USB port are easily accessed once the battery is removed. The core even provides a slot on the chassis to make pushing out the battery a lot easier.

The speaker is placed at the end of the core and provides good sound quality for the saber.

The saber came with 32 presets on board (inluding both blade styles and fonts and were stored on a decent quality MicroSD card so no worries about the saber lagging or freezing up.

What finished the core off for me though was I had built a Chrome and Gold saber and the core chassis did not arrive with a black or grey chassis that you see on most of the online stores but was actually printed in metallic gold that really finshed off the saber nicely.

Overall I cannot rate this Proffie core highly enough. Quality built, nice sound (from good speaker) and supplied with a decent 32gb MicroSD card. Personally I don't think you could get one better for the price.

Exactly what I needed. I just wish it wasn't quite so expensive, especially since it ships without a battery (which is understandable due to shipping regulations). Give that there's no battery included and that this uses Proffie v2.2 instead of v3.9, I think it should be at least 10£ cheaper.
Overall, the quality is good, although this doesn't use the new style of chassis for Xeno cores v3. I was quite happy, however, that it uses the new style of switch.

Perfect proffee core for someone who wants shipping without waiting 3 weeks for chinese delivery
