Count Dooku, also known as Darth Tyranus, became a Sith Lord primarily due to a combination of disillusionment with the Jedi Order and the influence of Darth Sidious, the Sith Lord who would later become Emperor Palpatine.

Dooku was once a highly respected Jedi Master who trained several notable Jedi, including Qui-Gon Jinn. However, he grew disillusioned with the Jedi Order's perceived corruption and its close ties to the Galactic Senate. Dooku believed that the Jedi had strayed from their original principles and had become entangled in political games.

During this time of discontent, Dooku was approached by Darth Sidious, who was manipulating events from behind the scenes to orchestrate the fall of the Jedi Order and establish the Sith as the ruling power in the galaxy. Sidious, recognizing Dooku's frustrations and potential as a powerful Force user, offered him an alternative path—the dark side of the Force.

Dooku, seeking a way to bring about change and restore what he believed to be a more just order, was swayed by Sidious's promises and teachings. He was seduced by the power and the supposed freedom the dark side offered, as well as the chance to reshape the galaxy according to his own ideals.

Thus, Dooku embraced the Sith teachings, adopted the name Darth Tyranus, and became Sidious's apprentice. Together, they plotted and executed various machinations, including the creation of the Separatist movement, which ultimately led to the Clone Wars and the downfall of the Jedi Order.

It's important to note that Dooku's turn to the dark side was not solely driven by personal ambition or desire for power but was also influenced by his disillusionment with the Jedi and his belief that the galaxy needed a radical change. However, his decision to become a Sith ultimately led him down a path of darkness, manipulation, and destruction.
