  1. Darth Vader, originally known as Anakin Skywalker, is a prominent character in the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas. He first appeared in the original trilogy, consisting of "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope" (1977), "Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back" (1980), and "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi" (1983).

  2. Anakin Skywalker was a Jedi Knight who fell to the dark side of the Force, becoming Darth Vader under the influence of Emperor Palpatine, also known as Darth Sidious.
